Scans - Fine Art
Black Cat Studio scans original unframed art to give you the best possible combination of resolution and reliable color. Upon completion you will receive a hi-res (300ppi) rgb.tif format and a low-res (72ppi) rgb.jpg file for each image unless otherwise requested. File preparation includes color correction, sharpening, and sizing. Background removal (turning the paper texture to white) is available for $35 per 15 min of file work.

Scans - Negatives and Loose Photos
BCS can bulk scan loose photos (up to 8.5x11), 35mm slides or negatives, and odd size film (120, 126 APS). The bulk scanning program includes cropping and rotating, but does not include color/contrast adjustment or scratch removal (which can be done at an additional cost).

Archiving Services - Photos and Documents
BCS can photograph and scan all your heirlooms, photos, documents, publications, correspondence, etc. Once each item is digitized, from the single image files we can then create a multi-page digital pdf format catalog that can be easily sent to many family members. BCS can also help create a searchable database from your catalog, letting you fill in information on a website about each item such as media, dates, locations, peoples names, keywords and more.
